Following the successful introduction of the CSEPEL 100/48 model, within a short period of time, the larger 125/49 version was prepared and produced.
The bored out square (54×54 mm), two-stroke engine offered an output of 4,5 horsepower, with a total motorcycle weight of only 65 kg. The front wheel suspension retained the well proven, inexpensive, central helical sprung, parallelogram girder type forks, while the rear wheel remained unsprung.
With a yearly production of some 10 thousand units, this popular model was produced in this form at the Csepel factory for the following 2 years, the type name followed by the calendar years: 125/48, 125/49.
