From 1964, the Csepel Motorcycle Factory produced the T5, and following versions introduced a wide range of innovations in appearance and construction design.
Following intensive development engine output increased to 16 and later 18 horsepower, without any significant incrase in engine revolution. Introduction of the smaller (160 mm Dia.) drum brake supported the introduction of safer flat head spokes. In addition an adjustable (2-position) rear wheel suspension was available, depended on one or two persons riding.
From 1964 until the final closure of the factory, some 10 years later, the T5 and its followers provided the overwhelming majority of motorcycles assembled. The annual production figure generally exceeded the 30 thousand mark.
